Meta Glasses Launch 2026: Price, Features, Variants and UAE Availability Explained
DUBAI — Meta has officially expanded its wearable ambitions with the launch of Meta Glasses, a new line of smart eyewear developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. Starting at $299 (around Dh1,100), the range is Meta’s most affordable smart glasses yet.
Unlike the company’s existing Ray‑Ban Meta and Oakley Meta products, the new lineup carries Meta’s own branding. It arrives in three distinct styles:
- Meta Adventurer – a classic rectangular frame available in multiple sizes
- Meta Fury – a bolder, chunkier design for those who want a more distinctive look
- Meta Glasses by Kylie – a slim oval frame created in collaboration with Kylie Jenner, featuring a small gemstone detail near the camera, a makeup‑friendly metal nose pad, and a charging case with a built‑in mirror
The collection includes 26 frame and lens combinations, with colours such as Racing Green, Merlot, Sandstone, and Classic Black. Buyers can choose from clear, sun, polarised, Transitions, and prescription lenses.
Hardware and Features
All three models carry over the same core hardware as the Ray‑Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses:
- 12‑megapixel camera capable of recording 3K video
- Five‑microphone array for voice commands and wind‑noise reduction
- Open‑ear speakers for music and calls
- Over 8 hours of battery life on a single charge
- Charging case providing up to 40 additional hours of power
- A dedicated action button on the frame can instantly launch the voice assistant or be customised for other shortcuts.
The Computing Upgrade
The biggest upgrade is under the hood. Meta Glasses are the first wearables to ship with a new model developed specifically for devices. New capabilities include smarter visual understanding of surroundings, real‑time translation in 20 languages (including Arabic and Hindi), and upcoming pedestrian navigation features. The Kylie Jenner edition also offers an optional AI‑generated version of Jenner’s voice.
UAE Availability
For now, the answer is no. Meta says the new glasses are launching in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and several European markets. The UAE is not included in the initial rollout.
However, that could change. The UAE already supports Meta’s services across its ecosystem, and previous Meta wearables have gradually expanded into new regions after launch. Given the country’s strong appetite for premium consumer technology, a local release may follow in due course.
