Trump Suggests Iran Uranium Issue May Be About Optics, Not Policy
In an interview from China, President Donald Trump suggested that securing Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile may be driven more by public relations than by strategic necessity.
“I just feel better if I got it, actually, but it’s — I think, it’s more for public relations than it is for anything else,” Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity.
His remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the war with Iran is “not over” because the nuclear material “has to be taken out” of the country. The US and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran starting February 28.
