Ukraine Faces Fresh Russian Bombardment as Casualties Increase

KYIV — Russian strikes killed at least eight people and wounded more than a dozen others across Ukraine on Thursday, after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of a massive attack overnight.

A ballistic missile struck a village house near Kryvyi Rih, killing four adults and two girls aged five and 12. Eight other people were wounded. In the Poltava region, one person was killed in a drone strike on a warehouse, while at least 15 were wounded in attacks on Lviv. Kyiv confirmed one death and two wounded, with fires reported across the city.

Zelensky said Russia had prepared a massive attack and urged Ukrainians to heed air raid alerts. He also discussed with US President Donald Trump the possibility of Ukraine producing Patriot interceptors, as shortages of PAC-3 missiles have worsened since the US-Iran war began.

Meanwhile, a warehouse of Russian online retailer Wildberries caught fire in Penza after a Ukrainian drone strike, injuring one person and forcing 200 to evacuate. Another facility in Udmurtia also caught fire. Drone strikes have damaged nearly a dozen Wildberries warehouses recently, affecting tens of thousands of small businesses. Russia said it downed 258 drones overnight.
