Borouge Announces a 22% Sales Increase in the Third Quarter
Borouge Plc has published its results for the third quarter (Q3) of 2026, with production returning to normal levels, with average utilisation improving from 60 per cent in Q2 to 76 per cent in Q3 as well as a 22 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase in sales volumes despite the ongoing regional interruptions.
Therefore, Q4 is likely to be the strongest quarter of FY 2026, with EBITDA improving significantly, driven by higher production volumes and better pricing despite sustained high logistics costs.
“The third quarter has been an exceptional period, marked by ongoing external disruption in our operating environment,” stated Borouge Plc CEO Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi. We have grown our production and sales volumes under these conditions, kept our assets highly available and continued to serve our clients via alternate transportation methods. We exited the quarter with good momentum and we are entering Q4 with much improved feedstock availability, increased production volumes and improving prices. We continue to see resilience in our customer reach and our price premia and we expect a meaningful improvement in profitability in the fourth quarter.
Average utilization rate grew to 76% throughout the quarter with high technical asset availability maintained as better ethane supplies allowed more production capacity to be brought back on line.
Borouge Plc produced 0.95 million tonnes in Q3 2026, up from 0.72 million tonnes in the previous quarter. Sales volumes grew 22 per cent QoQ to 1.07 million tonnes from 0.87 million tonnes in Q2 2026, helped by higher exports to Asia.
