Shanina Shaik Is Australian Fashion’s Latest Star Making Headlines Worldwide
DUBAI — Part‑Saudi model Shanina Shaik is quickly becoming the face of Australian fashion, with brands banking on her international appeal after she returned to the runway at Australian Fashion Week in May.
This week, Shaik starred in a social media campaign for Dissh, a label led by creative director Lucy Henry‑Hicks. “This collection was made for the way we actually live. I wanted pieces that just work, no matter what the day throws at you,” Shaik posted on Instagram.
At Australian Fashion Week, Shaik walked for Carla Zampatti in one of the event’s most anticipated shows, held against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour. Creative Director Tanya Emon Beattie’s collection featured fluid satin separates, feather‑trimmed eveningwear, sharp tailoring, and sequined gowns in monochrome and soft lilac tones. In a nod to Shaik’s star power, Beattie ended the show walking hand‑in‑hand with the model.
Born in Australia to a Saudi father, a Pakistani mother, and of Lithuanian descent, Shaik is no stranger to the international fashion circuit. She was most recently in Paris in March, attending events for Hourglass and Victoria Beckham’s latest collection.
