UAE Developers Eye Fourth Crossing Highway Connecting Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi
Demand for residential units continues across the UAE, with an influx of new inhabitants and a growing population of citizens. Property developers are eyeing chances along the newly announced 80km Fourth Corridor, a highway linking Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Developers claim the road will open up less-convenient places to residents, businesses and investors, and will foster new residential and commercial communities along its course. Announced in September 2026, it will be the fourth strategic road axis uniting the UAE’s emirates after Sheikh Zayed Road/Al Ittihad Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.
The firm has bought a site in Abu Dhabi, near the path of the corridor, said Andrea Nucera, group managing director of Reportage Group. The site comprises roughly 750,000 square meters with over 3,800 units in the design phase. Nucera said the project is expected to hit the market in 2027 or 2028.
Details of the proposal indicate that the 80km corridor will be completed in two phases and is likely to serve 600,000 and 3.1 million people, respectively.
The company has not changed its attitude and its product and prices were still in accordance with that strategy which is centred around helping consumers make money, Nucera told Reuters on the sidelines of the opening of the Verso and Epoque projects in Meydan.
Connectivity influences where people choose to live, work and invest, and infrastructure plays a fundamental part in how we think about real estate,” said Pantheon chairman Kalpesh Kinariwala. “The corridor connects to Dubai-Al Ain Road, and facilitates access to areas surrounding Al Maktoum International Airport, and will generate new opportunities as these growth corridors develop,” he said.
