ADNOC has Agreed to Provide Thailand With up to 2 Million Tonnes of LNG
The Thai energy and infrastructure behemoth Gulf Group and Adnoc have inked a multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) to provide LNG to Asian countries. Beginning in 2027, Gulf Group will receive about 2 million metric tonnes of LNG from Adnoc Trading under the agreement’s multi-year delivery schedule.
The arrangement further solidifies Adnoc’s dedication to providing dependable energy supplies to customers in Asia and Thailand, according to Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of Adnoc Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading. This agreement expands upon Adnoc’s previous LNG supply agreement with Gulf Group. It is a significant achievement for ADNOC’s global LNG marketing and trading platform, allowing us to better fulfil increasing worldwide demand for LNG while also increasing the flexibility, optionality, and scalability of our solutions.
“This agreement builds on the relationship we have established with Adnoc since 2025 and reflects our strategy: a diversified, resilient LNG portfolio anchored by our trading business,” said Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Public Company Limited. Our value chain is being reinforced at every stage through our efforts to secure midstream infrastructure, shipping capacity, and partnerships with top suppliers. As a result, Gulf Group is better able to adapt to changing energy needs and contribute to the region’s energy transition.
In July 2026, Adnoc brought its global LNG marketing and trading capabilities together in a single integrated commercial platform, debuting it at Abu Dhabi Global Market. Building on Adnoc’s five-decade reputation as a reliable LNG provider, it is designed to increase shipping options and flexibility while strengthening client access worldwide.
With a target of 47 mtpa of marketable LNG by 2030, the platform will solidify Adnoc’s position as a frontrunner in the global LNG industry and strengthen the company’s ability to manage its expanding and varied LNG portfolio. Adnoc Trading connects the portfolio with customers across important international markets and continues to function as the counterparty for LNG trading activities.
