Abu Dhabi Property Sector Posts $31.9 Billion in H1 Real Estate Transactions

RIYADH — Abu Dhabi’s real estate sector recorded 117 billion dirhams ($31.9 billion) in transactions during the first half of 2026, marking a 112 percent year-on-year increase, according to official data from the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Center.

Transaction volume rose by 61.7 percent compared with the same period in 2025. Foreign direct investment in the emirate’s real estate market surged 309 percent to 13.8 billion dirhams in the first half, surpassing the total FDI figure for all of 2025.

Sales transactions led the momentum, accounting for 86.1 billion dirhams across 16,838 deals, up 163.7 percent in value. Mortgage transactions added 26.7 billion dirhams through 8,876 deals, up 33.5 percent year on year.

Non-resident investors from 116 nationalities participated, up from 82 in the same period last year. Leading source countries included the UK, China, Russia, the US, Germany, and France.

Rashed Al Omaira, director general of ADREC, said the focus is on providing investors with clear market visibility through transparent regulation and reliable data. “What matters is not only how much it grows, but how it grows,” he stated.

ADREC approved eight new investment zones during the first half, bringing the total to 50, and registered 28 new real estate projects, a 16 percent increase year on year. The center also issued 2,040 licenses for real estate professionals, up 34 percent, bringing the total number of licensed brokers to 3,302.
