Luca Finotti Reveals Key Career Lessons for the Next Generation of Creatives

DUBAI — Italian film director, fashion creator, and photographer Luca Finotti recently shared his global industry experience with emerging creatives in Dubai as part of a mentorship program at Istituto Marangoni Dubai. Working with students in Fashion Communication and Image, Finotti offered digital sessions packed with practical advice.

Finotti has built an international career directing campaigns for top names including Nike, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Moschino, and Hugo Boss, as well as collaborating with figures such as Lady Gaga, Monica Bellucci, and Gigi Hadid.

Speaking to Arab News after the session, Finotti emphasized individuality and perseverance. “Think of yourself as the opportunity. Make your heritage, intuition, and personal vision count,” he said. “Talent alone is never enough; consistency and humanity are what truly shape a creative path.”

Despite working with world‑famous stars, Finotti believes authenticity is key. “The lens of a camera never lies it simply reflects reality. I always try to look beyond the name, beyond fame, and connect with the person standing in front of me.”

On the evolution of fashion films in the social media age, he hopes the next generation focuses on substance: “I hope more creatives and brands will lead communication toward real values — human values — and create projects capable of generating genuine social impact. Those who have a voice also have a responsibility.”

Finotti said mentoring is a two‑way gift. “I truly love mentoring because it allows me to become the first viewer of someone else’s creativity and imagination. For me, this exchange is not only educational it is a genuine gift.”
