BEVERLY HILLS — The 86th annual Peabody Awards put a spotlight on powerful Middle Eastern storytelling Sunday night, with documentaries about Gaza’s healthcare crisis and West Bank displacement earning top honors.

Palestinian‑Israeli collective film “No Other Land,” which documents the destruction of Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank, won in the documentary category. News program Fault Lines was recognized for its reports “Kids Under Fire” and “The Disappearance of Dr. Abu Safiya,” which the Peabody organization said “document attacks on some of Gaza’s most vulnerable, and the healthcare facilities they turn to amid the ongoing violence.”

The ceremony, hosted by American‑Palestinian comedian Mo Amer, also featured a brief appearance by Ben Affleck and a performance by Aloe Blacc. Amy Poehler received the Career Achievement Award, while Sterlin Harjo took home the Trailblazer Award.

Entertainment winners included “Andor,” “The Pitt,” “Adolescence,” and “Pluribus.” More than 1,000 entries were submitted this year, with winners selected by unanimous jury vote.

The Peabody Awards, established in 1940, honor media that contributes to public understanding rather than commercial success.
