Sara Sampaio Turns Heads in Tony Ward Couture Masterpiece

DUBAI — Portuguese model and actress Sara Sampaio lit up the red carpet at the Fashion Trust US Awards 2026 in Los Angeles, wearing a creation from Lebanese Italian designer Tony Ward.

The gown featured a strapless corseted bodice with sculptural draping in a soft blue tone. Subtle cut-outs at the waist created tension, while a draped panel extended into a gentle train. The label described the look as a dialogue “between dream and presence, where sharp construction and fluid gestures come together.”

The annual awards ceremony, which supports emerging US-based design talent, named Tory Burch as Designer of the Year. Michèle Lamy received the Lifetime Achievement Award. A special innovation prize, created with Type One Ventures, was also presented.

The event drew celebrities including Dove Cameron, Julia Fox, Natasha Lyonne, James Franco, Mindy Kaling, and Becky G. Presenters included Pamela Anderson, Olivia Wilde, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Melissa McCarthy. Anderson introduced Burch, calling her “creative, courageous, inspiring” and “a fearless advocate for women.”

Winners receive grants and ongoing mentorship through Fashion Trust US and Google.
